In celebration of Jewish American Heritage Month, the Combat Antisemitism Movement, the National Museum of American Jewish History and the National Coalition Supporting Eurasian Jewry are partnering for a special symposium reflecting upon the Free Soviet Jewry movement.
Blending grassroots activism and political advocacy, the movement culminated in millions of Jews behind the Iron Curtain being allowed to emigrate and practice their religion freely.
As the societal sickness of antisemitism is flaring up yet again, targeting not only Jewish communities abroad, but also Jewish Americans, the symposium will highlight the cross-communal partnerships forged between people of diverse backgrounds to achieve the movement’s goals.
