Athletes Against Antisemitism: Marking 90 Years Since Jesse Owens Defied Hate at Berlin Olympics

This September, the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) is hosting a special commemorative event at Berlin’s Olympic Stadium to mark the 90th anniversary of the historic achievements of African American sprinter Jesse Owens at the 1936 Summer Olympic Games.
The program will bring together athletes from across Germany, members of the Owens family, and distinguished figures from German public, cultural, and business life for a forum highlighting Owens’ legacy and examining the role that sports and civic leadership can play in addressing antisemitism, extremism, racism, and other forms of hatred today.
