Dear Friends,

We cordially invite you to participate in the second annual Interfaith Iftar hosted by the American Muslim & Multifaith Women’s Empowerment Council (AMWEC) in partnership with the Combat Anti-Semitism Movement (CAM) on April 21, 2021 at 3:00 PM EDT.

We will be joined by a diverse selection of leaders from different political, spiritual and cultural spheres, uniting to build bridges between faith communities.

CAM’s interfaith coalition is at the core of our mission in the struggle against anti-Semitism. Together we will reflect on the challenges that faith communities experienced during a year of global uncertainty, and look towards a bright post-pandemic future. In the spirit of the Abraham Accords, now is a pivotal moment in the history of faith relations to celebrate our shared humanity.

The Iftar is an evening meal in which Muslims end their daily fast during the holy month of Ramadan. We look forward to bringing together distinguished members of Congress, diplomats, and leaders of all faiths to discuss the need for greater interfaith cooperation in the struggles against anti-Semitism, Islamophobia and other forms of religious hatred.

During last year’s first-ever National Muslim Jewish Interfaith Iftar, American and UN officials issued a strong call for communities to join together to defeat anti-Semitism and other hatreds as the world began grappling with the pandemic.

In total, more than 13,000 people participated alongside imams, rabbis, priests and leaders from the Muslim, Jewish, Sikh, Zoroastrian and Christian communities, who examined the need for greater tolerance, respect and cooperation.

CAM wishes a Ramadan Kareem to all those who celebrate!

During this year’s Interfaith Iftar, you will also hear from members of AMWEC, who challenge bigotry by empowering Muslim women on the frontlines.

Inspired by their own journeys as immigrants who have prospered in America, they are proud American Muslim leaders who unite to strengthen their communities, confront bigotry in all its forms, and build enduring bonds with fellow Americans of all faiths.
