CAM Law Enforcement Training Session Teaches South Florida Police How to Identify and Counter Antisemitism

The Combat Antisemitism Movement CAM works hand-in-hand with law enforcement authorities on a daily basis to secure and nurture Jewish life across the globe.

As part of this program, CAM recently hosted a specialized training session in Doral, Florida, for 60 law enforcement officers from the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office and several local municipal police departments.

The seminar focused on teaching police how to recognize and address antisemitism in all its contemporary forms and offered strategies and tools to prevent, respond to, and counter it it in South Florida.

Speakers during the three-hour program included CAM Advisory Board Member and former Bal Harbour Mayor Gabriel Groisman, Miami-Dade Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz, Miami-Dade Assistant Sheriff Eric Garcia, Parents4Peace Executive Director Myrieme Churchill, and Parents4Peace Director of Trauma Services and Training Miri Bar-Halpern.

In their remarks, both Sheriff Cordero-Stutz and Assistant Sheriff Eric Garcia emphasized the importance of protecting the South Florida community from hate crimes and vowed a commitment to a firm, zero-tolerance stance against antisemitism.

Similar CAM-0rganized law enforcement trainings have been held over the past year in New York, Ohio, and Virginia, as well as a previous session in Florida.
