Anti-Israel demonstrators protesting outside Park East Synagogue in Manhattan on Wednesday night chanted numerous antisemitic slogans — including “Globalize the Intifada,” “Death to the IDF,” “Resistance is glorious,” “Intifada revolution,” and “Resistance, you make us proud, take another settler out,” among others — and accosted Jewish passersby.

The protest — led by PAL-Awda NY, under the banner of “No Settlers on Stolen Land: Protest the Settler Recruiting Fair” — targeted an event hosted by Nefesh B’Nefesh, an organization that facilitates the immigration of North American Jews to Israel.

Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) Chief Government Affairs Officer Lisa Katz stated:

“Last night’s despicable protest outside Park East Synagogue marked only the latest example of the growing normalization of antisemitic intimidation and incitement in American society, where even Jewish houses of worship are now not safe. The calls to ‘Globalize the Intifada’ and praise for ‘resistance,’ a common euphemism for terrorist acts, represent direct violent threats to a New York City Jewish community already facing unprecedented levels of antisemitic hostility.”

“Such displays of hatred must be publicly condemned by leaders at every level. With the looming inauguration of New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, who has embraced this exact type of dangerous rhetoric in the past, Jewish New Yorkers must remain vigilant and demand city leaders take concrete steps to ensure their right to worship in safety and without fear.”
