A Brooklyn man who chased a Jewish couple through Manhattan while screaming “Die, Jews, Die!” was sentenced on Tuesday to three to nine years in prison.

Skiboky Stora, 42, was convicted of multiple offenses, including third-degree hate crime assault, hate crime stalking, aggravated harassment, and attempted hate crime assault, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office announced.

The attack took place in November 2023 in Union Square. The couple saw Stora tearing down posters of hostages kidnapped by Hamas. After the woman photographed him, he began following them and shouting antisemitic and anti-white slurs. A bystander let the couple into a nearby building for safety, but Stora followed them inside, yelling, “Die, Jews, Die!”

Prosecutors said the incident formed part of a broader pattern. In September 2023, Stora elbowed a 17-year-old student in the neck in Chelsea while making hostile remarks. Weeks later, he struck a 37-year-old woman in the shoulder. The violence escalated in March 2024, when he hit a 23-year-old woman in the head. The blow knocked her to the ground and left her with visible swelling.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg described the attacks as targeted and sustained. “Skiboky Stora engaged in a disturbing pattern of hate-fueled violence targeting and intimidating strangers, causing physical harm and lasting emotional trauma to these New Yorkers,” he said. He added that the attacks “robbed them of their sense of safety and altered how they navigate daily life.”
