Orlando resident Jerry Sneed, 31, allegedly shared photographs of a firearm and a newly-established Jewish residential community in Glades County, accompanied by threatening statements, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) announced on Thursday.
FDLE agents in Fort Myers learned of the messages earlier in October, and investigators then secured an arrest warrant.
FDLE and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrested Sneed and found the firearm pictured in the posts in his possession.
Sneed faces counts of written or electronic threats to kill, do bodily injury, or conduct a mass shooting or an act of terrorism, as well as unlawful use of a two-way communication device.
The investigation remains active, FDLE said.
The community was established in October and is expected to include about 1,300 housing units.
