Antisemitism in British schools has reached record highs, according to reporting published on Saturday by The Telegraph examining incidents over the past three years.
At a London primary school, classmates called two six-year-old Jewish children “baby killers” after they sang Hebrew songs during a cultural event. The language reflects some of the most extreme anti-Israel rhetoric — now directed at very young children.
Britain recorded 4,298 antisemitic incidents in 2023, the highest number ever documented. Figures dipped in 2024 but remained elevated. In 2025, incidents rose again to 3,700. The trend is sustained and entrenched.
Across the country, Jewish students report a pattern that has intensified in recent years. In Devon, a student performed a Nazi salute and declared that Jews should not have equal rights. In northwest London, younger students harassed a Jewish girl returning from Hebrew school on a bus, shouting anti-Israel slurs. These incidents reflect the normalization of antisemitism among school-aged children.
Parents say classrooms exposed Jewish students to highly politicized anti-Israel messaging. In one case, a teacher framed violence against Israeli soldiers as justified resistance. In another, a school penalized a student who objected to such content.
Saqib Bhatti, the UK’s shadow minister for education, warned that the findings should “worry us all,” stressing that Jewish children must be able to attend school free from abuse. Meanwhile, UK Secretary of State for Education Bridget Phillipson has launched a formal review and acknowledged that many Jewish students and teachers feel their concerns have gone unaddressed.
When children are exposed to antisemitism at such a young age, it does not just harm — it distorts their understanding of Jews, history, and truth.
