Guatemalan Foreign Minister Mario Búcaro Receives Diplomatic Advocate for Israel Award at Central America-Israel Forum in Panama
The Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) was honored to present Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Guatemala Mario Búcaro with the first-ever Diplomatic Advocate for Israel Award at the Central America-Israel Forum in Panama, on Tuesday.
The award — given at the forum’s opening dinner at the Waldorf Astoria in Panama City — was granted in recognition of Búcaro’s dedicated efforts to bolster ties between Guatemala and the State of Israel over his distinguished career of public service.
We thank Búcaro — a member of the CAM Advisory Board — for his resolute support for Israel and his steadfast solidarity with the Jewish people worldwide.
Among his past roles, Búcaro served as Guatemala’s ambassador to Israel, and in this position he oversaw the country’s historic recognition of Jerusalem’s capital and the subsequent move its embassy to the city.
