Nearly 1,500 people gathered in northern Ecuadorian city of Ibarra earlier this month for a special event held under the banner of “Ibarra Blesses Israel.”
The Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) was represented at the gathering by Director of Hispanic Affairs Shay Salamon, and high-profile attendees included Vice President of Ecuador VerĂ³nica Abad Rojas and Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of Israel in Quito Sagi Rabovski, as well as law enforcement officials and religious leaders from both Ecuador and neighboring Colombia.

“The Western world must understand that what we see today does not begin and end with the Jews,” Salamon said in his keynote remarks. “Hatred of the Jews, antisemitism, is a symptom of a broken and radicalized society.”
“Freedom of worship is a fundamental right, and we have an obligation to defend it,” Salamon emphasized.

Furthermore, Salamon participated in a press conference with local media outlets.
