Inspiring Christian Media Leaders to Confront the Dangers of Antisemitism

Last Tuesday, the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) sponsored the opening dinner of the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) Capitol Hill Media Summit in Washington, D.C. The event brought together the leadership of the major Christian media groups in the United States.

CAM Director of Christian Outreach and Engagement EJ Kimball gave opening remarks at the dinner, highlighting CAM’s work to fight antisemitism, its unique interfaith approach, and the important role Christian media has to inform its viewers about the threat of antisemitism — a threat that targets not only Jews, but also anyone who believes the Jewish people have the same rights afforded to all other peoples in the world, including the right to self-determination and a state in their ancestral homeland.

“Antisemitism is a threat to the U.S., the future of our republic, and Christianity,” Kimball said. “Antisemitism in the big picture is quite simply Jew-hatred. Antisemitism is a rejection of the Bible. It’s a rejection of G-d’s word and G-d’s chosen people. I am asking all of you to work with us to fight this evil scourge on humanity. We want to partner with you, to help educate your constituencies through joint events, collaboration with church and political leaders, [and] interviews on TV, podcasts, and radio.”

The dinner provided an opportunity to highlight CAM’s activities and how it allies with its partners in creative ways to push back against antisemitism across America and around the world.

The evening concluded with a speech by Michael Farris, president and CEO of Alliance Defending Freedom. Farris shared how hatred and racism has impacted him personally and why he has dedicated his life toward defending the freedoms and ideals as laid out in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.

CAM has sponsored the “Breakfast to Honor Israel” at the past two NRB annual conventions and is looking forward to growing partnerships with the media broadcasters that attended last week’s dinner to expand its grassroots network.

When the Christian media is educated and activated to help end the world’s oldest hatred, CAM’s interfaith movement grows in both strength and numbers.
