Iranian Embassies Circulate AI Nazi Imagery Targeting Netanyahu, Trump

Iranian diplomatic accounts published artificial intelligence (AI)-generated content on Wednesday using Nazi and religious imagery to target Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and U.S. President Donald Trump.

The Iranian Embassy in Indonesia shared an AI-generated image on its official X account. It showed Netanyahu seated inside a train, while the window’s reflection reveals Nazi leader Adolf Hitler looking back at him. The post was captioned, “Times change, crimes don’t.”

The imagery is part of a sustained Iranian propaganda campaign that repeatedly equates Netanyahu and Israel with Nazi figures. In August, banners in Tehran’s Palestine Square portrayed Netanyahu in a Nazi-style uniform. They labeled him “Hitnayahu” in Farsi and described Israel as the “German Nazis of today.”

Such comparisons draw on a well-documented antisemitic tactic that inverts the Holocaust and weaponizes its language against the Jewish state. This form of distortion aligns with examples outlined in the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) Working Definition of Antisemitism.

Meanwhile, the Iranian Embassy in Tajikistan circulated a separate AI-generated video the same day. It featured a figure identified as Jesus striking U.S. President Donald Trump and sending him to Hell. The figure then descends and casts Trump into flames.

The use of AI-generated imagery by official Iranian channels reflects a growing effort to exploit emerging technologies for propaganda. These campaigns deliberately draw on some of history’s most charged symbols to distort reality and incite anti-Israel and anti-American sentiment.
