Prominent friends and allies of the Jewish people across Latin America sent a powerful message of interfaith unity in the fight against antisemitism in a special video message published this week.

The video — a joint initiative of the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) and Argentine Forum Against Antisemitism (FACA) — features more than a dozen lawmakers, spiritual leaders, and communal officials sharing the following words:

I am not Jewish and I fight against antisemitism because history has already shown us where silence leads.

I am not Jewish and I fight against antisemitism because I refuse to be an accomplice to a hatred that divides us.

I am not Jewish and I fight against antisemitism because it is a symptom of a broken society.

I am not Jewish and I fight against antisemitism because no one should be in danger because of their identity.

I am not Jewish and I fight antisemitism because I believe in integration and respect.

I am not Jewish and I fight against antisemitism because we all deserve freedom and security.

Participants included Chair of the CAM Advisory Board for Latin America Pilar Rahola, former Vice President of Ecuador Verónica Abad, Archbishop of Montevideo (Uruguay) Cardinal Daniel Sturla, Latin American Institute for Peace and Citizenship (ILAPyC) President and Nobel Peace Prize nominee Patricia Perez (Panama), President of National Hispanic Pastors Alliance (NAHPA) Carlos Duran (United States), Founder and President of Kehilat Yovel (Colombia) Raul Rubio, journalist Veronica Roybal (Uruguay), Congressman and National Representative in Mercosur Conrado Rodriguez (Uruguay), Pastor David Silvestre of the Union Iglesia Evangeliga (Colombia), Director of Philos Latino Jesse Rojo (United States), Congresswoman Laura Rojas (Bolivia), Congresswoman Maria Antonieta Mejia (Honduras), Congressman David Reyes (El Salvador), and President of the Rights Agenda (RAD) Diego Carbrita (Uruguay).

The release of the video coincided with the fourth anniversary of the launch of CAM’s activities in Latin America, led by Director of Hispanic Affairs Shay Salamon.

Within two days, the video had garnered more than 70,000 views on CAM en Español’s social media platforms, including Instagram and X.

CAM’s outreach in Latin America began in 2021, and since then it has worked diligently to build meaningful partnerships and friendships with influential leaders, legislators, diplomats, community organizations, and civil society activists from a diverse assortment of religious, political and cultural backgrounds in the region to combat antisemitism together.

During this time, CAM en Español has emerged as a key player in the battle against Jew-hatred in Latin America, with a growing coalition involved in impactful activities in countries including Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Colombia, Panama, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Mexico, Ecuador, and Bolivia, among others.

CAM en Español has organized regional summits hosted by Costa Rica in 2024 (where 18 countries were represented), Uruguay in 2023, Panama in 2022, and Guatemala in 2021.
