Thousands of protesters marched in midtown Manhattan this past weekend, chanting “Globalize the Intifada” — a slogan widely recognized as incitement to antisemitic violence.
The demonstration on Saturday — billed as a “Stand With Gaza” rally — featured signs demanding an end to U.S. aid to Israel.
Chants of “Free, free Palestine” and “Palestine will live forever” echoed through the streets along with the ringing of cowbells.

The marchers were led by prominent anti-Israel activist and former Columbia University graduate student Mahmoud Khalil.
Since the October 7th massacre, the deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust, the chant “Globalize the Intifada” has gained alarming traction around the world. It references the Palestinian “intifadas,” violent terror campaigns that killed thousands of Israeli civilians through bombings, shootings, and stabbings. Moreover, expanding the concept globally signals a direct call for violence targeting Jews.
