A Jewish elementary school in eastern Paris was targeted in a vandalism attack late Saturday, French authorities confirmed, as police continued to investigate the incident.

The attack occurred at Beit Hanna, a Lubavitch-affiliated Jewish elementary school located in Paris’s 20th arrondissement. Prosecutors said multiple individuals carried out the act during the night, damaging school property before fleeing the scene.

Attack Focused on School Exterior and Security Equipment

The vandals smashed three windows along the school’s exterior. In addition, they disabled a surveillance camera positioned to monitor the building.

They also removed and defaced the school’s sign. Authorities later located the damaged sign discarded in a nearby park. Despite the targeted destruction, investigators confirmed that the attackers did not enter the school itself. No injuries were reported.

Police have launched a criminal investigation on suspicion of serious property damage. The case is currently being handled by the local police station serving the 20th district.

Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) Director of European Affairs Shannon Seban said, “In 2025, in France, families must fear for the safety of their children solely because they are Jewish. This reality is profoundly intolerable,” adding that “The normalization of antisemitism is a grave failure for our Republic.”
