Paris Kosher Restaurant Ransacked, Tagged with Swastikas

Last Thursday evening, a kosher restaurant in Paris was pillaged. Unidentified individuals destroyed the restaurant’s interior, turning over chairs and tables, and painted anti-Semitic statements and swastikas on the walls.

According to the Jerusalem Post, the restaurant, named Mac Queen, in Paris’ 19th district, was tagged with phrases such as “Hitler was right,” “Jewish homos,” “Jews get out” and “Free Palestine.” The managers were confronted by the damage as they arrived to work on Friday morning.

The Union of Jewish Students of France, UEJF, posted a video on Twitter of the premises on Friday.

According to The Algemeiner, witnesses counted at least ten Nazi symbols and almost fifty anti-Semitic slogans on the walls of the restaurant. The culprits also flooded the restaurant by tampering with the water supply.

French officials were quick to denounce the incident. The mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, said: “I condemn with the utmost firmness this hateful act of vandalism. The Jewish community has my full support. We will not tolerate this.”

The attack occurred on the eve of Sukkot, an important Jewish holiday.
