Pittsburgh Steeler’s Zach Banner Speaks Out Against Anti-Semitism

Following the outrageous anti-Semitic Instagram post by Eagles Wide Receiver DeSean Jackson, in which he shared a fake quote by Adolf Hitler suggesting “the Jews will blackmail America” and “seek world domination” (for which he subsequently apologized), a few NFL players have spoken out. One of them is Zach Banner, Pittsburgh Steeler offensive tackle.

In a very moving video, Banner spoke of his love for the Jewish community and how he was emotionally impacted by the Tree of Life synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh less than two years ago, when 11 Jews were murdered at prayer. His voice shaky, he reminded viewers, “When we talk about Black Lives Matter and talk about elevating ourselves, we can’t do that while stepping on the back of other people to elevate ourselves.”

Watch the video below:

This video is to transition from the incident, and move forward as a community. Not to harp on @DeSeanJackson10 mistake, but to progress by educating ourselves. We can’t move forward while allowing ourselves to leave another minority race in the dark.#Equality pic.twitter.com/MnLnCCYzQL
