A teacher in San Diego, California, was fired after posting a video that included antisemitic claims accusing Israelis of stealing human organs, Israeli media reported on Saturday.

The teacher, identified as Nasreen Atassi, lost her position with the San Diego Unified School District shortly after the video appeared online. In the video, Atassi said that Israelis “steal kidneys, livers, and eyes.” She also claimed that Israel “steals protests, like they always steal from people.”

She made these remarks while referring to Jewish American support for demonstrations by Iranian dissidents in the United States.

After the video circulated on social media, Jewish organizations and community members in San Diego responded publicly and contacted authorities.

Members of the House of Israel – Balboa Park community documented the video and filed complaints with relevant authorities. Dr. Halevi Feldman, a board member of the organization, told Israeli media that the community assigned a designated individual to track antisemitic incidents. That person collects evidence and forwards it to authorities. Community members also responded online, tagged officials, and contacted the teacher’s employer directly.

The school district terminated Atassi’s employment in less than 24 hours after the video surfaced. Feldman added that additional steps took place behind the scenes to ensure swift action.

“There’s no chance we would allow such a person to enter classrooms,” a local Israeli resident told Israeli media. Feldman said the community no longer felt surprised by antisemitic incidents. Still, he emphasized that silence was not an option. He added that the community would continue to respond, especially when educators promoted such views.
