Shannon Seban has officially joined the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) as Director of European Affairs — a role that will see her lead CAM’s outreach and engagement across Europe.

Seban is a city council member in Rosny-sous-Bois, France, an eastern suburb of Paris, where she in charge of promoting the French concept of “laïcité” (“secularism”) and combating discrimination. In recent years, she has become a recognized figure in France and beyond for her advocacy against antisemitism and racism and her commitment to promoting interfaith dialogue and peace.

“We are thrilled to welcome Shannon Seban as CAM’s new Director of European Affairs,” said CAM CEO Sacha Roytman. “Shannon’s proven dedication to fighting hate and sterling record of leadership will be invaluable to advancing CAM’s mission in Europe and strengthening our partnerships on the continent. Only eight decades after the Holocaust, the resurgence of Jew-hatred is once again threatening the foundations of European society, making Shannon’s work all the more urgent and critical, and we look forward to the far-reaching impact she will have in this important role.”

Seban commented, “Joining CAM is both an honor and a responsibility. At a time when antisemitism is rising again across our continent, we must build strong coalitions — across faiths, communities and borders — to defend our shared values of dignity, peace, and freedom. I am determined to contribute to this fight, and to ensure Europe remains a place where Jewish life can flourish as part of our common future.”

Born and raised in Seine-Saint-Denis, Seban holds a master’s degree in management and law and a master’s degree in European public affairs, and has extensive professional experience working with European institutions and French government ministries.

Seban is also the author of the book French and Jewish — So What?, published in May 2025, in which she shares her personal story as a victim of antisemitism from both the far-right and the far-left, while also offering concrete solutions to address this scourge.

CAM has operated diligently in Europe over the past half-decade to forge meaningful partnerships and friendships with influential leaders, legislators, diplomats, community organizations, and civil society activists from a diverse assortment of religious, political and cultural backgrounds to combat antisemitism together.

These activities have included international mayoral summits against antisemitism in Athens, Greece, in 2022, and Dortmund, Germany, in 2023. The 2025 Paris Mayors Summit Against Antisemitism will be held in the French capital in November.
