The Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) sponsored the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) Capitol Hill Media Summit Lunch in Washington, D.C., on Thursday.
The speakers at the event, which brought together several dozen leaders of major Christian media groups in the United States, focused the urgent need to recognize rising antisemitism and partner to fight it.
In his remarks, CAM Director of Christian Outreach and Engagement EJ Kimball thanked NRB for its allyship and asked its members to “stand up today and speak loudly” against Jew-hatred.
“This evil scourge must be eradicated,” he declared.
Immediately following October 7th, Kimball noted, “we saw the antisemitism that had been festering on college campuses for decades erupt in full force.”
“We are seeing Jewish students being beaten at universities and Jewish stores being vandalized,” he said. “We are seeing Jews being blocked from entering buildings. We are seeing things in America that parallel Germany in the 1930s. Those who say ‘That could never happen in America,’ I hope they are right. But who would be surprised to see Jewish businesses, schools, and synagogues vandalized, and Jews attacked, in a coordinated effort similar to Kristallnacht? These thoughts were laughable just a few years ago, but unfortunately today, they are very real possibilities.”
Thursday’s lunch offered an opportunity to showcase CAM’s latest programs and share how it works with a broad range of groups to build a better future, free of bigotry, discrimination, and prejudice, for the Jewish people and all humanity.
In addition to its involvement with the Capitol Hill Media Summit, CAM has also sponsored the “Breakfast to Honor Israel” at the NRB’s last five annual International Christian Media Conventions, and is looking forward to continuing to a broad base of evangelical Christian support for efforts to combat antisemitism worldwide.
