The CAM Antisemitism Research Center collects comprehensive antisemitism data from around the world on a constant basis, and publishes a regular feature on the top ten antisemitic incidents that shook Jewish communities globally during the preceding month.

The ten most shocking antisemitic incidents of November 2022 are as follows:

1. ‘Developing Threat’ to New York City’s Jewish Community Thwarted With Arrests of Armed Men at Penn Station

The arrested men were identified as Christopher Brown, 21, of Aquebogue, New York, and Matthew Mahrer, 22, of Manhattan.

Brown — who allegedly tweeted, “Gonna ask a priest if I should become a husband or shoot up a synagogue and die” — was indicted for making a terroristic threat, aggravated harassment, and criminal possession of a weapon, and Mahrer was charged of criminal possession of a weapon.

At Penn Station last night, MTA police officers caught two men who were wanted in connection with threats to the Jewish community.

3. New Jersey Man Accused of Sending Online Threats to Attack a Synagogue and Jews

An 18-year-old New Jersey man was arrested on Nov. 10 after sending a manifesto online with threats to attack a synagogue and Jewish people, federal prosecutors say. Omar Alkattoul, a Sayreville resident, is charged with a count of transmitting a threat in interstate and foreign commerce earlier this month, according to a criminal complaint and a statement from Philip Sellinger, US Attorney for the District of New Jersey.

4. Kanye West Tells Alex Jones ‘I Like Hitler’ During Interview

U.S. rapper Kanye West praised Nazi leader Adolf Hitler during an interview alongside Holocaust-denier Nick Fuentes with far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones.

West — who was dropped by leading companies such as Adidas and Balenciaga following a spate of antisemitic rants — repeatedly commended Hitler during his Infowars appearance.

A Polish opposition lawmaker, Senator Krzysztof Brejza, tweeted a photo from a far-right march in Warsaw of participants carrying a banner with the “Black Sun” symbol of Nazi Germany’s SS guards. Brejza noted that police did not intervene.
