A federal grand jury indicted 22-year-old Skyler AJ Rose of Ogden, Utah, on October 21, after authorities discovered six functional pipe bombs, two AK-47-type rifles, and ammunition at his home during an investigation into suspected antisemitic threats against Jews and a synagogue.
In December 2025, Rose allegedly wrote, “I wanna blow up a synagogue,” in a social media post. Other messages praised Adolf Hitler and voiced hatred of Israel, and one declared, “Death to all Jews I will devote my life to killing you!”
The FBI contacted Ogden police, who visited Rose’s home on December 23, 2025. His mother confirmed that he operated the social media account and allowed officers inside, according to prosecutors. When officers discovered suspected explosives in his bedroom, authorities evacuated the house and nearby residences.
Investigators seized a cellphone, along with an inert explosive device and materials that could have been used to construct additional bombs.
On the phone, they found that Rose had searched for synagogues near his home in November 2025 and used Google Maps to pinpoint one roughly three miles away.
Prosecutors also allege that Rose’s phone contained hundreds of images and screenshots depicting child sexual abuse. The federal indictment includes charges related to receiving and possessing those images, alongside an attempted hate crime and explosives-related offenses.
