A Wolt courier in Copenhagen’s Nordvest district displayed multiple stickers featuring the red triangle associated with Hamas on his delivery bag, according to a photograph taken last Sunday and obtained by Danish newspaper B.T.
B.T. Middle East correspondent Jotam Confino noted the Hamas inverted red triangle was “used by the terror group as a kind of marker over Israeli soldiers in Gaza, a form of target.”
“It’s clear that the triangle on these stickers is a direct reference to Hamas,” he added.
Confino pointed out the emblem has spread since the October 7th massacre. “The red Hamas triangle has since October 7th become one of the most used symbols among the most extreme pro-Palestinians. From Copenhagen to Sydney and New York,” he said.

Joanne Bywater, a Liberal Alliance member of the Copenhagen City Council, condemned the display on X. “Dear Wolt, can it be right that I have to consider a potential security threat in my own home when I order from you?” she wrote. “With couriers like this, openly honoring terrorism, how can Jews feel safe in Copenhagen.”
Asked why she believed the courier represented a potential security threat, Bywater pointed to the imagery on the bag. “When you choose stickers where Israel doesn’t exist and with red Hamas triangles, that’s a clear signal you want to send,” she said. “It’s insane, and it scares me that we’re at a point where you can’t even order Wolt without being afraid.”
Bywater said the incident had changed how she answered her own door. “I do think sometimes about who’s coming to my door. I have a mezuzah, and now I’ve reached a point where I don’t want to order Wolt anymore,” she said.
Wolt Denmark’s communications director replied to the criticism in a written statement. “We are aware of this and are investigating the matter further,” the company said. “Wolt’s courier partners are not employees but independent contractors free to choose their own equipment. We expect everyone who uses the platform, including couriers, to follow Wolt’s guidelines to ensure everyone feels safe and welcome when ordering from us.”
Wolt did not say whether the stickers complied with the company’s own guidelines.
