Every year, Tikvah works with hundreds of college students across the United States. Through its fellowships, campus chapters, and collegiate forum, Tikvah identify and cultivate young men and women who have the potential to be future leaders of the Jewish people.
2022 Beren Fellow ZoĆ© Tara Zeigherman is one example. As part of her summer fellowship, ZoĆ© worked with Tikvah on a special research project which ultimately became our newest online course, “Zionism and Anti-Zionism: The History of Two Opposing Ideas,” with Dr. Einat Wilf.
ZoĆ©’s project also earned her a spot of the cohort of winners of the 2022 Combat Antisemitism Movement Innovation Lab.
ZoĆ© was inspired by Dr. Wilf’s seminar on Zionism at Georgetown University, and sought to bring what she learned in that class to the world. As ZoĆ© saw it, on her campus and in the broader public square, far too few people possessed a clear and accurate view of what they were arguing so passionately about. Something was needed to cut through the histrionics, provide a clear-cut understanding of these two competing ideologies, and perhaps change some minds in the process.
After a lot of hard work, help from Dr. Wilf, and guidance from Tikvah, ZoĆ©’s vision is now being offered to the Tikvah community.

“Zionism and Anti-Zionism” is a sterling example of what Tikvah‘s educational programs can do: empower students to influence the Jewish world for the better in deep and enduring ways.
And right now, this particular course is critical. Zionism is at the center of the national conversation in a way that it hasn’t been in many decades. It is imperative that people learn about Zionism for themselves, and teach others about its true history and aims. ZoĆ©’s course does just that.
How much better would our public discourse be if every person who speaks about Zionism had seen this course? Sign up today and to tell your friends and family about it. This is what a Tikvah student can do.
