The Supreme Court of Justice of the Argentine Province of Buenos Aires adopted this week the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) Working Definition of Antisemitism.
The decision — which can be read in Spanish here — was announced to the general public via the court’s website.
The announcement said the adoption of the IHRA definition was “opportune and necessary, expressing the commitment of the Supreme Court of Justice to the eradication of any form of discrimination, including antisemitism.”
Headquartered in La Plata, Argentina, the court is the highest judicial authority in Argentina’s largest and most-populous province, which is also home to the country’s national capital city of Buenos Aires.
More than 1,160 entities worldwide have adopted the IHRA Working Definition of Antisemitism, according to data compiled by the CAM Antisemitism Research Center.
Earlier this month, it was adopted by the Latin American Parliament, known as the “Parlatino,” which has 23 member states from across Latin America and the Caribbean.
