Alyza D. Lewin, President of U.S. Affairs for the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM), released the following statement today in response to the Trump administration’s designation of the Lebanese, Jordanian, and Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood chapters as terrorist organizations:

“We commend President Trump and his administration for aptly recognizing the international threat posed by the Muslim Brotherhood and taking this bold and decisive step to counter it. Today’s designations by Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent sent a powerful and resounding message: the United States will not tolerate organizations that support terrorism, undermine American national security and that of our allies, and spread antisemitism.”

“To effectively combat a threat, it must first be clearly identified. This designation is a key first move that unlocks the proverbial toolbox. We are grateful to the Trump administration for taking this important action and for its demonstrated commitment to utilize all the means at its disposal to protect America’s citizens and friends, both at home and abroad.”
