US Names Deputy Special Envoy to Combat Anti-Semitism
A State Department spokesperson announced to the Jewish News Syndicate on Tuesday of this week that David Peyman has joined the Office of the Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism as the Assistant Special Envoy for Eurasian Affairs and Strategic Projects.
According to the State Department spokesperson, “In this role, he is the lead on anti-Semitism occurring in Europe and much of Asia. David will also serve as the lead on certain strategic projects, including the global Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) campaign against Israel.”
Prior to his new role, Peyman served as deputy assistant secretary of state for counter-threat finance and sanctions and is a lawyer by training. He served as Jewish affairs and outreach director for the Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and on the transition team.
Peyman joins a growing team in the Office of the Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism, led by Elan Carr.
