Produce a video or essay exploring Israel’s centrality to Jewish identity and human progress – and why celebrating its existence is moral and vital.
Jews face increasing economic, political, social, and even physical intimidation for publicly expressing pride in the world’s only Jewish homeland. Some have been forced to hide their pride in fear of repercussions, while others face significant pressure to disavow the “Love of Zion” core tenet of Judaism.
To help push back against intimidation, create a short video (up to four minutes) or essay (up to 1,500 words) emphasizing how Israel is centrality to Jewish identity and a light onto the nations. Explore the Jewish people’s deep historic, cultural, and spiritual connections to their ancestral homeland – and how Israeli society contributes to human progress. Make sure to help audiences appreciate the importance and moral imperative to celebrate Israel’s existence.
Outstanding videos will (1) rebut the hateful narrative that tries to sever Jewish identity from Israel and (2) encourage ordinary people to support the basic right of Jewish self-determination.
The winning video will receive $5,000 with 10 additional runner-up prizes of $1,000.
