Jewish Safety Volunteer Faces Assault in Brooklyn
Once again, a Jewish resident of Brooklyn has been physically assaulted. A member of Shomrim, a Jewish volunteer safety group, was slashed on July 29th when he attempted to intervene in another physical assault.Â
The incident began when a man seated on a bench was attacked by four suspects. Then, the slashing victim tried to break up the fight and was repeatedly slashed below the knee.
The New York Post reported that the victim was taken to nearby Maimonides Medical Center where he was determined to be in stable condition. As this remains a developing situation, three of the four suspects have been arrested by the NYPD, all of whom were described as men in their early 20s.Â
The fourth suspect remains at-large, and the victim seated on the bench left the scene without seeking any medical attention. Charges are still unknown and it is unclear whether there was an anti-Semitic motive.
