‘Kanye Is Right About the Jews’: Antisemitic Message Projected Outside Florida Football Stadium

October 30, 2022

An antisemitic projection reading “Kanye is right about the Jews!” was illuminated on the exterior of TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida, on Saturday evening following the conclusion of a high-profile rivalry game between the University of Florida and University of Georgia football teams.

The message was referencing a series of recent antisemitic outbursts — including a threat to go “death con 3 on Jewish people” — by the U.S. rapper Kanye West, also known as “Ye.” This hateful rhetoric has drawn widespread condemnation and prompted numerous businesses, including Adidas, to cut ties with West.

Also, banners carrying the messages “End Jewish supremacy in America” and “Honk if you know it’s the Jews” were displayed on an Interstate 10 overpass in Jacksonville on Friday.

Jewish Federation and Foundation of Northeast Florida CEO Mariam Feist told News4JAX, “It’s just so sad and frustrating to the entire Jewish community.”

The University of Florida Hillel called the stadium projection “abhorrent.”

“Ensuring Jewish students are free from antisemitism, discrimination and marginalization is at the core of Hillel’s work,” it said. “Our Hillel team is available for any student in need of support, and calls on the campuses’ communities to reject this vile act in the strongest possible terms.”
