Save the Date: From Australia to New York — Bringing Holocaust Survivors to Living Rooms Around the World
March 30, 2022
On April 27-28, Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom HaShoah), the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) and Zikaron BaSalon — an Israeli social initiative that fosters dialogue with Holocaust survivors, either physically or online — will host a globe-spanning digital gathering, “From Australia to New York,” bringing members of the last generation of Holocaust survivors into people’s living rooms for personal conversations in which they will share their testimonies and answer questions from viewers about their experiences.
The importance of Holocaust education and passing down the historical lessons from the Nazi genocide is only gaining urgency as the numbers of survivors dwindles with each passing year.
The program — which will move between five locations across the world — will also feature messages from decisionmakers in the different countries the survivors are speaking from, as well as representatives of international institutions, on the relevance of Holocaust memory to the contemporary fight against antisemitism worldwide.
