Dear Friends,

In this week’s global anti-Semitism report, CAM covers 37 new anti-Semitic incidents (46% far-right, 27% far-left, 14% Islamist, and 13% unidentifiable).

The FBI arrested a white supremacist who boasted of his desire to gas Jews. The British Jewish community expressed outrage over a BBC program in which four non-Jews debated whether Jews should be considered a minority group.

Just this morning, a knife-wielding man was arrested outside of a Jewish school and Kosher grocery store in France. In the Middle East, the Palestinian Authority published a cartoon depicting Prime Minister Netanyahu as Hitler and a new report from IMPACT-se shows that textbooks in Turkey now refer to Jews as “infidels.”

Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that the Biden Administration “enthusiastically embraces” the IHRA definition of anti-Semitism, including its examples. The University of California – San Diego student government and the Global Student Forum adopted the IHRA definition this week.

Julio E. López, a brave non-Jewish Argentinian journalist, uncovered this story by creating a computer program to scan Spanish-language hate speech. Argentine media refused to broadcast the story until CAM partner Fuente Latina secured him an interview on CNN Español and other major news networks.

Despite death threats by the extremists he exposed, López is almost singlehandedly taking on social media giants to ban these racist and anti-Semitic groups.
