THIS WEEK'S GLOBAL ANTISEMITISM REPORT

This week, we continued to monitor antisemitism around the world while advocating for more actions to be made.

Open Antisemitic Incitement on Streets of New York City
A “Palestinian Prisoners’ Day” demonstration in New York City last Friday featured explicit incitement to violence against Jews, glorification of terrorist groups, and calls for Israel’s elimination.
Marchers chanted, “Smash the settler Zionist state,” while signs read, ” Globalize the Intifada,” “Long Live the Resistance,” “By Any Means Necessary,” “Defend Al Aqsa,” and “Bomb ‘Israel’ Bye!” Hamas headbands were worn by demonstrators and pictures of late Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah were displayed.
Meanwhile, in London, England, a 17-year-old was charged with arson after attempting to firebomb Kenton United Synagogue, the latest in a string of similar incidents targeting Jewish communal sites across Europe.
In total, the Antisemitism Research Center (ARC) by CAM monitored reports of 156 antisemitic incidents worldwide this past week. Notable incidents included:
  • Germany: A Syrian national was charged for plotting a knife attack against Jews and suicide bombing in Berlin.
  • Belgium: A Jewish student was called a “dirty Jew” and physically assaulted at Universite Libre de Bruxelles.
  • Romania: A Jewish cemetery in Reghin was desecrated, with 14 gravestones toppled by vandals.
  • Brazil: A terrorist attack was thwarted by police in Rio Grande do Sul, with weapons and Nazi memorabilia discovered in the suspect’s home.
