GLOBAL ANTISEMITISM REPORT

THIS WEEK'S GLOBAL ANTISEMITISM REPORT

This week, we continued to monitor antisemitism around the world while advocating for more actions to be made.

In the latest incident in an escalating pattern of antisemitic violence worldwide, two Jewish men were seriously wounded in a stabbing attack in the Golders Green neighborhood of London on Wednesday.
The stabbing, which police officially designated as a terrorist incident, came mere weeks after four Jewish ambulances were torched in the same area of London and amid an ongoing wave of firebombings and acts of vandalism targeting Jewish sites across Europe.
CAM CEO Sacha Roytman urged strong action, warning, “If governments do not respond forcefully at every level, through policing, legislation, education, and the dismantling of incitement networks, this ‘hunting season’ against Jews will continue.”
In total, eight Jews were injured in antisemitic assaults across the globe in the last week.
Jewish Marchers Forced From Milan WWII Liberation Rally
Other incidents documented by the Antisemitism Research Center (ARC) by CAM this week included:
-Italy: Jewish marchers were escorted by police from a rally in Milan commemorating the anniversary of Italy’s liberation from Nazi occupation during WWII after facing chants of “Long live Hitler” and other antisemitic taunts.-Germany: A synagogue in Cottbus was defaced with swastikas, while the phrases “Kill all Jews” and “Only a dead Jew is a good Jew” were spray-painted on several apartment buildings in Berlin.-Canada: In the Toronto area, a man tried to force his way into the Sephardic Kehilah Centre in Vaughan. After being turned away by security, he punched a Jewish father who was walking with his son to synagogue in the face. The following day, a rock was thrown through the window of a Judaica store in the Bathurst Street corridor.-Australia: A benefit concert in Sydney for victims of the Bondi Beach Hanukkah massacre was canceled after a Greek choir refused to perform alongside a Jewish ensemble.
