GLOBAL ANTISEMITISM REPORT

THIS WEEK'S GLOBAL ANTISEMITISM REPORT

This week, we continued to monitor antisemitism around the world while advocating for more actions to be made.

British Authorities Ban Maccabi Tel Aviv Fans From Aston Villa Match

The decision to ban Maccabi Tel Aviv fans from attending the forthcoming match against Aston Villa under the pretext of “security risks” is a brazen act of discrimination.

Such a ban could amount to participation in a prohibited foreign boycott under U.S. law, including the Export Administration Regulations, the Trump administration’s anti-BDS executive orders, and multiple state-level anti-boycott statutes.

CAM Advisory Board member Arie Lipnick urged “the Department of Commerce to open an immediate investigation into whether the New York-based investment firm Atairos, through their ownership stake in V Sports, are in violation of the Department’s antiboycott compliance regulations.”

Jewish Man Arrested in London for Wearing a Star of David

Meanwhile, in London, a Jewish lawyer was handcuffed and detained for nearly 10 hours after police claimed his Star of David necklace could “offend” pro-Palestinian protesters.

CAM strongly condemns this disgraceful act of antisemitism.

Antisemitic Violence and Harassment Continue

The post-October 7 wave of antisemitism shows no sign of abating. Incidents the Antisemitism Research Center (ARC) by CAM documented this week include:

  • Argentina: A player shouted “Jews must be killed” at an opponent from the Jewish sports club Hebraica during a soccer match on Saturday.
  • United States: New York City activists held a vigil on Thursday honoring October 7 architect Yahya Sinwar.
  • France: A 13-year-old boy in Les Lilas, near Paris, was beaten in his building’s hallway after being called a “dirty Jew” by a group of teenagers.
