GLOBAL ANTISEMITISM REPORT
THIS WEEK'S GLOBAL ANTISEMITISM REPORT
This week, we continued to monitor antisemitism around the world while advocating for more actions to be made.
Jews and Israelis faced violence worldwide this week.
In Ottawa, Canada, a man with a long record of antisemitic hate speech stabbed an elderly Jewish woman in a grocery store. At Santa Monica Pier in California, a group of pro-Palestinian demonstrators violently attacked an Israeli man.
Antisemitic violence reared its head in Europe as well when Israeli singer David D’Or faced an assault with red paint during a concert in Warsaw, Poland.
Not even synagogues were spared from the onslaught of hate. The ARC recorded several incidents targeting Jewish places of worship this week, including:
- France: Police arrested a man on Friday evening after he threatened Jews near a synagogue in the Paris suburb of Neuilly-sur-Seine.
- United States: Police arrested a man in Houston, Texas who attempted to enter a synagogue after targeting it with 30 threatening emails.
- Colombia: Antisemitic vandals spray painted the Sociedad Hebrea de Socorros synagogue with graffiti equating the Star of David to a swastika.
