Former US Ambassador to the UN Human Rights Commission, Richard Schifter, discusses his moving personal story of emigrating to the US as a teenager to escape Nazi persecution, after saying goodbye to his family for the last time. Ambassador Schifter led a distinguished career fighting to combat anti-Semitism, advance human rights, and advocating for the freedom of religious belief at the United Nations. Today Ambassador Schifter leads the American Jewish International Relations Institute. Ambassador Schifter has signed the Combat Anti-Semitism pledge.
