Many are familiar with the story of Oskar Schindler who is credited with saving 1,200 Jews during the Holocaust. Schindler’s story was popularized by the Steven Spielberg film Schindler’s List. Few however, know the story of the “Spanish Schindler,” Ángel Sanz Briz, a Spanish diplomat who saved more than 5,200 Hungarian Jews during the Holocaust. This is his story.
