The Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) invites press to cover a rare “center aisle” presentation of a Joint Resolution of the Virginia General Assembly honoring CAM’s state-level work to secure and nurture Jewish life in the Commonwealth.

At a time of heightened political divisiveness, the passage of this Joint Resolution is a remarkable demonstration of bipartisan consensus on the urgency of combating antisemitism in Virginia.

 WHO: Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM)

WHAT: Bipartisan Joint Resolution by the Virginia General Assembly

WHEN: Wednesday, February 19, 2025

  • Launching new educational initiatives, including scholarships for students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and community colleges and programs to bring Black and Jewish students together through a Jewish American Heritage Month (JAHM) short curriculum contest and the introduction of a long-term JAHM curriculum.
  • Supporting historical preservation efforts, including the restoration of Norfolk’s Woolworth’s soda fountain as an interactive learning museum and classroom instruction site on the history of the Civil Rights Movement.
  • Strengthening cultural, economic, and political ties between Virginia and Israel through legislative briefings and educational mission trips to Israel.
