Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law President Alyza Lewin addressed a memorial event on Capitol Hill on Monday commemorating the first anniversary of the October 7th massacre in Israel.
“Hamas miscalculated,” Lewin said. “Hamas may have anticipated the intensity of the IDF’s response to their October 7th attack, but they did not expect Jewish unity. As we mark one year since the brutal massacre of October 7th, we must remember that the best antidote to bigotry and discrimination is self-confidence and pride in our Jewish identity and heritage.”
