CAM Coalition Partners Spotlight: An Inspiring Week of Action Against Antisemitism

In an inspiring, action-filled week, Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) coalition members engaged in a broad array of initiatives to take the fight to Jew-hatred in all corners of the globe.

Here is a sampling of what CAM partners were up to:

Spotlight

Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law: The Brandeis Center provides the research resources, public policy education, and legal advocacy needed to fight antisemitism on North American college campuses. Its mission is to advance the civil and human rights of the Jewish people and promote justice for all.

Partner Achievements

JCC Krakow: Happy 14th birthday to the Jewish Community Center in Kraków, Poland! In the past year, JCC Krakow organized 800 community events, booked 7,400 nights at hotels for Ukrainian refugees, and served 350 challahs at Shabbat dinners.

Campaigns to Support

B’nai B’rith International: As part of the “”None Shall Be Afraid” essay contest to fight antisemitism, BBI is calling on students (ages 18-22) to submit pieces about how to deal with rising antisemitism in the US. The contest is inspired by first U.S. President George Washington’s 1790 letter of solidarity to the Touro Synagogue, in which he wrote, “Everyone shall sit in safety under his own vine & fig tree and there shall be none to make him afraid.”

Fighting Online Antisemitism (FOA): Are you passionate about stopping antisemitism online? In a FREE online training program, with over 200 volunteers that have joined in the online fight against antisemitism, FOA will provide you the tools to address hate speech and prevent antisemitism from spreading. Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA): Incoming Board of Trustees Chair Julie Platt has launched the “LiveSecure” initiative aiming to protect local communities with resources and safety measures amid surging antisemitism across the United States.

Simon Wiesenthal Center: In a recent report, the Simon Wiesenthal Center details in the inaction of major social media, gaming, and video companies in dealing with the antisemitism, Holocaust denial and trivialization, and spread of bigoted conspiracy theories that are fueling hatred and disinformation among the younger generation.
