The Antisemitism Research Center (ARC) by CAM tracked a total of 489 reports of antisemitic incidents globally in June, marking a daily average of 16.3 — up 222% from the same month last year, as the massive surge of antisemitism experienced in the aftermath of October 7th Hamas massacre in Israel continued to impact Jewish communities worldwide.
CAM’s Monthly Antisemitism Report classifies incidents of Jew-hatred (including physical assault, verbal harassment, vandalism, and hate speech) into the following categories: Holocaust Denial, Minimization, and Distortion; Classical; Israel-related; Islamist; and Unattributable.
Of June’s incidents, 71.0% (347) were Israel-related, while 4.9% (24) were classical and 1.4% (7) were Holocaust Denial, Minimization, and Distortion. The remainder fell into the the Islamist and Unattributable categories — at 8.0% (39) and 14.7% (72) respectively.
87 incidents of antisemitic vandalism, as well as 80 physical threats against Jews (16.4% of all incidents), including a violent anti-Israel demonstration outside a Los Angeles synagogue and the antisemitic gang rape of a 12-year-old Jewish girl in France, were monitored during the month of June.
