Dr. Ron Weiser, a dentist from Sydney and son of Holocaust survivors, has been involved in Jewish communal activities for more than 55 years, including leadership roles in B’nei Akiva and the State Zionist Council of NSW. As president of the Zionist Federation of Australia, a position he held for 10 years, he has focused on Jewish education, aliyah, and fundraising for Israel. He also played a key role in addressing issues related to the 1997 Maccabiah tragedy and secured shlichim for Australian youth education. Amongst many awards, in 2005, he received the inaugural Herzl Award and the Jerusalem Prize in 2009.
