Joel Eisdorfer

Joel Eisdorfer is the founder of Handshake, a government relations firm that builds strategic partnerships, navigates government processes, and drives community impact. With decades of experience in public service, he is known as a bridge-builder between New York City’s diverse communities, the private sector, and government.

Joel served nearly 20 years on Brooklyn’s Community Board 12, was a board member of the Boro Park Jewish Community Council, and worked in the New York State Senate and at Brooklyn Borough Hall. In 2022, he was appointed as a senior advisor to Mayor Eric Adams, maintaining close ties with faith-based communities and chairing the Mayor’s Jewish Advisory Council. In late 2022, Joel also joined the Board of Trustees of the Museum of Jewish Heritage in Lower Manhattan.

His influence spans politics, business, real estate, healthcare, and advocacy, and his lifelong commitment to New York is reflected in decades of civic leadership. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife and five children.
