Manuel Valls (Europe)

Manuel Valls is a prominent French statesman currently serving as Minister for Overseas Territories. He previously served as Prime Minister of France (2014–2016) and Minister of the Interior (2012–2014). Throughout his political career, he has been one of France’s strongest advocates for defending republican values, combating radical Islamism, and confronting antisemitism.

He is the author of several books on security, public policy, democracy, and national cohesion, in which he reflects on the challenges posed by extremism and the need to defend democratic institutions. For more than two decades, he has consistently warned that antisemitism represents not only a threat to Jewish communities but also one of the clearest indicators of democratic decline.

Following the October 7th attacks, Valls has remained among the most outspoken European political leaders in defending Israel’s right to security, condemning antisemitism, and calling for a united democratic response to terrorism and hatred.
