Rachel Hirshfeld is Deputy Editor-in-Chief at CAM. Originally from upstate New York, she holds a BA in English Education and Literature from New York University, where she also served as the Jewish Agency’s campus representative.
Before making aliyah to Israel in 2011, Rachel taught English literature in a New York City public high school, where she developed a Holocaust education curriculum that was formally adopted by the school’s administration. In Israel, she was employed by NGO Monitor, rising from Online Content Manager to Senior Researcher and Director of the UN Desk, where she led efforts to expose how foreign-funded NGOs exploit human rights rhetoric to demonize and delegitimize Israel in international forums. She later moved to the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy (ISGAP), where her research focused on the role of foreign funding in U.S. academia and its connection to rising campus antisemitism.
Prior to joining CAM, Rachel worked in Israel’s high-tech industry, focusing on content marketing and marketing automation.
