Israel’s security environment is undergoing significant transformations due to recent developments.
The conflict with Hamas remains unresolved, with continuing efforts to free the remaining hostages and dismantle Hamas’s military and governing capabilities in the Gaza Strip.
Simultaneously, Hezbollah, despite the loss of its leadership, still poses threats to Israel’s northern border.
The upcoming change in the U.S. presidential administration will introduce new dynamics to the Middle East. President-elect Donald Trump’s return to office will likely bring shifts in American foreign policy, which could influence Israel’s strategic decisions and regional alliances.
Additionally, Iran remains a significant threat, with Ayatollah Ali Khamenei recently threatening Israel and the U.S. with a “crushing response” to strikes on the Tehran regime and its regional proxies.
To offer insights on this complex reality, the Combat Antisemitism Movement (CAM) hosted an online briefing on Wednesday featuring analysis from: Aryeh Lightstone, Senior Adviser to U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman during first Trump administration; Shir Mor, Researcher at the Iran Desk of the ITSS Verona Institute; and IDF Lt. Col. (res.) Sarit Zehavi, Founder and President of the Alma Research and Education Center.
The briefing was moderated by Sacha Roytman, CEO of CAM.
