Ten Most Shocking Antisemitic Incidents of September 2022

The ten most shocking antisemitic incidents of September 2022 are as follows:
“I want you all to know that among progressives, it’s become clear that you cannot claim to hold progressive values, yet back Israel’s apartheid government, and we will continue to push back and not accept that you are progressive except for Palestine,” Rep. Rashida Tlaib (MI-13) said in an online forum organized by American Muslims for Palestine.
Calling for the exclusion of Zionists, i.e. a vast majority of the Jewish people, from progressive spaces is a blatant expression of antisemitism.

2. Antisemitic Chalkings Mar First Day of Classes at University of Wisconsin-Madison
The University of Wisconsin Hillel Foundation called the chalkings “discriminatory and antithetical to the University of Wisconsin we know and love.”
“Today’s targeting of student organizations because of their connections to Israel is an attack on the identity of Jewish students,” it added. “No student should be targeted because of their identity. Harassment and targeting of Jewish students and their campus organizations are never acceptable at the UW.”
3. ‘You Filthy Jew’: German Rabbi Allegedly Assaulted Outside Berlin Subway Station
The rabbi of the Jewish community of Potsdam, Germany, was the target of an antisemitic attack while visiting nearby Berlin for a doctor’s appointment, The Algemeiner reported, citing German media outlets and local police reports
The incident occurred as Rabbi Ariel Kirzon, 43, stood with his 13-year-old son in front of a subway station speaking on his phone in Hebrew. A man walked toward him, intentionally bumped him, and uttered an antisemitic slur, according to Berlin police.

5. Woman Violently Knocks Hat Off Orthodox Jewish Man in Brooklyn Street Assault
A Hasidic Jewish man walking down a street in Brooklyn, New York, was violently assaulted by a female passerby and had his traditional fur hat (shtreimel) knocked to the ground.
The suspected assailant was later arrested by the New York City Police Department (NYPD).
6. Neo-Nazis Perform ‘Heil Hitler’ Salute Outside Adelaide Holocaust Museum in Australia
A photo emerged of several neo-Nazis performing a “Heil Hitler” salute outside the Adelaide Holocaust Museum in Australia.
A group calling itself the National Socialist Network was circulating the image on the Telegram messaging platform, news.com.au reported.
7. Fans of Zagreb’s FC Dinamo Soccer Club Perform Nazi Salutes Ahead of Milan Match
Fans of Zagreb’s FC Dinamo soccer club marched through the streets of Milan, Italy, performing Nazi salutes ahead of a Champions League match against FC Milan, Balkan Insight reported.
FC Milan defeated FC Dinamo 3-1 in the Sept. 14 showdown at San Siro Stadium.
8. Meta Says It Failed to Adequately Remove Hate, Incitement During May 2021 Israel-Hamas Conflict
A report commissioned by Meta, the company that owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, has found that content inciting hatred and violence against all parties to the May 2021 conflict between Israel and the Hamas regime in Gaza was not adequately removed by those social media networks.
The report stated that under-enforcement of Meta policies on incitement to violence and hatred, and policies relating to dangerous organizations and individuals, meant that such content had remained online while offending accounts went unpunished.
9. CST Issues Security Warning for UK Jewish Schools After David Miller’s Rant on Iranian TV Channel
Jewish schools were given urgent security advice following claims on an Iranian TV channel that British children were being “indoctrinated.”
Sacked Bristol University professor David Miller used his “Palestine Declassified” show on Iran’s Press TV to claim schools including Yavneh College and Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School (now Haberdashers’ Boys’ School) were influencing students to promote Zionism.
10. US College Towns Hit by String of Antisemitic Incidents During Rosh Hashanah Holiday
As Jewish communities worldwide celebrated Rosh Hashanah, two college towns in the United States suffered disturbing incidents of antisemitism.
In Ann Arbor, Michigan, antisemitic flyers were distributed near the University of Michigan campus by the neo-Nazi Goyim Defense League. One of the flyers said “Every Single Aspect of the COVID Agenda Is Jewish,” and another implied Israeli control of U.S. affairs.
Meanwhile, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, a Jewish fraternity house was vandalized with eggs.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy tweeted in response, “Antisemitism has no place in New Jersey. I will always condemn and speak out against bigotry and intolerance.”
