A video circulating online shows two British tourists targeting an Israeli couple with sustained antisemitic abuse at a restaurant in Vietnam, ultimately forcing them to leave mid-meal.
The timing of the incident is unclear, and the video was apparently uploaded to social media by the British pair.
The confrontation began after the women noticed an Israel-shaped tattoo and questioned the couple about their identity.
When the Israelis said they spoke Hebrew, the tone shifted immediately. “Oh, right, you’re Israeli… Fake state of Israel,” one of the tourists said, before demanding to know whether they had served in the IDF, using the slur “IOF,” and asking, “Did you kill innocent civilians?”
When the Israeli woman replied that “Everyone is part of the army,” one of the women answered, “So then you’re a murderer,” adding, “You can refuse to be in the IDF.”
The couple tried to disengage. “I want to eat my lunch in quiet,” the Israeli woman said, but the harassment did not stop.
Blatant Antisemitic Abuse
The tourists mocked the pair, taunted them as “victims,” and invoked antisemitic language while referencing “goyim.” They then praised Iran, chanting “Viva viva Iran,” and sang “Boom, boom Tel Aviv.” They also demanded the Israelis publicly denounce Israel’s leadership and actions.
When the couple stood up to leave, the abuse intensified. “Everywhere you are going to be hated,” one of the women said.
Another repeated the claim that Jews were expelled from “110 countries,” a distorted talking point widely circulated in extremist and white supremacist circles that misrepresents historical expulsions to suggest Jews are inherently unwelcome wherever they live. T
he harassment culminated in one of the oldest antisemitic tropes: “Look at them, the rats running away… Go on, rats. Murderers, savages.”
Watch British tourists harass an Israeli couple in Vietnam. They sing “Boom boom Tel Aviv” and call them “rats”. They even invoke the Nazi trope of Jews being kicked out of “110 countries”. These pro-Pals are indistinguishable from Nazis now. I’m ashamed of them. pic.twitter.com/kod7h0su9k

Comparing Jews to vermin has long been used to dehumanize and justify violence against them. In this case, it was directed at individuals targeted solely because they were Israeli, in full view of other diners who did not intervene.
