A woman passed several pedestrians in Midtown Manhattan’s Diamond District on Wednesday evening before assaulting a visibly Jewish man, according to eyewitnesses.

Manhattan Shomrim, a Jewish volunteer neighborhood patrol organization, said on social media that it and the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force are investigating the matter as a possible antisemitic attack.

The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where he was reported to be in stable condition.

Some reports suggested that the suspect, who appeared to be in her 30s, used a syringe or needle.

Shomrim appealed to the public for information that could help locate the suspect.

“If you were in the Diamond District/Midtown area around that time and witnessed the incident, or if you have access to storefront security cameras, dashcam video, or cell phone footage, please reach out immediately,” it said.
